Unbuilt: 2021
Set next to a neighborhood park in a mid-rise urban environment, the Citrus Peel Apartments evoke concepts of tropical living and honest materials. Open-air units, operable facades of louvers and sun awnings, and a roof-top amenity space engage the residents with the climate. Sand-blasted concrete masonry, expressed pre-cast double-tee slabs, and reclaimed redwood t&g from the houses that use to be on the site, all come together and are both the structure and the finish of this project.
